The Grasonville Community Center is a non-profit 501C organization. Our mission is to provide life-enriching experiences, valuable resources and empowering programs to all individuals through diverse community events, youth activities, individual and family services and collaborations with other organizations to serve the public.

Goals & Objectives
- Seek resources to upgrade and maintain infrastructure and appearance of the Community Center.
- Maintain/implement new capital purchases and projects to improve our outreach capabilities.
- Develop a new business and marketing plan to reach a greater audience.
- Improve our visual identity and provide diverse program offerings.
- Continue collaborating with community advocates to promote local events, conferences, and workshops.
- Partner with others to utilize the Community Center for public, recreational and educational programs on a regular basis.
The Grasonville Community Center brings together people for the exclusive purpose of improving our community as a whole through education, recreation, and other supportive services. The Center’s promise is to continually identify and assess the changing needs and resources of the community to adapt its programs accordingly to meet the needs of all in the best possible ways.

The site of the existing community center building was once the location for the former segregated Grasonville Colored School, which a number of members and people in t he community once attended, before segregation ended in the county in 1967.
When
Sunday through Sunday
The GCC is regularly used for community events, conferences, workshops, programs, and private functions. We partner with others to utilize the center for public, recreational and educational programs.

Who
Over 100 Members/Volunteers
Directly serving the public, our Center consists of volunteers who are responsible for all event activities, bookings and can assist with special requests.
Our members help support diverse programming for the community through membership fees.
Event Space
With over 6,320 square feet of space, the Grasonville Community Center offers rentable space options which include one banquet room with a stage, kitchen, computer lab, two meeting rooms and smaller party/event room. The banquet room has a sound system, screen, and projection capabilities.

Our commitment is to empower our communities by building their capabilities and capacities, fostering innovation, promoting partnerships, facilitating larger projects, maintaining flexibility, and promoting social cohesion. We will work with communities on their own terms, establishing a strong foundation and serving them with forward-thinking approaches. With the help of capital funding, our facility can achieve our redevelopment goals including preserving our historic site, upgrade our infrastructure, and offer innovative programs that support the community’s future growth and development.
